Device for Extracting at Least One Code Modulated Partial Signal and Use of Such a Device for a Positioning System
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention describes a device for extracting at least one code-modulated partial signal from a combined signal that uses the CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) method. The device features a receiver with neuromorphic (brain-inspired) hardware, which is capable of isolating the desired signal component efficiently. Such a device can replace traditional, power-hungry receivers like Rake receivers, especially in positioning systems such as GPS.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Satellite-based positioning systems (e.g., GPS) for navigation in smartphones, vehicles, or handheld devices
- Terrestrial radio signal localization systems
- LIDAR-based positioning or mapping technologies
- Medical imaging and detection systems, such as PET scanners
- Low-power Internet of Things (IoT) devices requiring signal extraction in dense signal environments
- Autonomous vehicles requiring accurate positioning with low-power hardware
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Significantly reduced power consumption compared to traditional receivers, enabling longer device battery life
- Smaller chip area required, facilitating miniaturization of positioning devices
- Potential for integration with advanced signal processing and filtering within a single hardware component
- Faster and more efficient extraction of relevant information from mixed signals
- Flexibility in adapting to different types of code-modulated signals (terrestrial or satellite-based)
- Reduced overall system complexity and cost, especially in mass-produced hardware

Patent Abstract
The device for extracting at least one code-modulated partial signal and/or information of at least one code-modulated partial signal, wherein the partial signal is transmitted together with several differently code-modulated signals using the CDMA method as an overall signal, is provided with a receiver having a neuromorphically inspired hardware component. The receiver has an input for receiving the transmitted overall signal potentially containing the code-modulated partial signal to be extracted and an output for outputting the code-modulated partial signal to be extracted, provided that it is contained in the overall signal, and the hardware component contains data representing the code of the partial signal to be extracted and/or the information of a code-modulated partial signal to be extracted.
