Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention discloses an environmentally friendly aqueous polymer electrolyte for use in batteries and other electrochemical energy storage devices. The electrolyte is composed mainly of water, a metal ion (such as lithium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, etc.), and a specially designed polymer (such as polyacrylate or polyacrylamide) that helps increase the electrochemical stability window and enhances battery safety and performance. The invention offers an alternative to traditional organic electrolytes, which are typically flammable and toxic.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Lithium-ion batteries for portable electronics, electric vehicles, or grid storage
  • Sodium-, magnesium-, zinc-, or other metal-ion batteries for stationary or backup power systems
  • Supercapacitors and hybrid capacitors for rapid energy storage and delivery
  • Battery systems requiring enhanced safety and lower toxicity (e.g., for medical devices)
  • Low-cost, environmentally friendly batteries for large-scale renewable energy storage

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Non-flammable and non-toxic electrolyte composition, improving safety
  • Wide electrochemical stability window, allowing higher operational voltages
  • Comparable or higher ionic conductivity to commercial (organic) electrolytes
  • Low production cost due to inexpensive and widely available polymer components
  • Environmentally friendly – avoids use of toxic or hazardous substances like LiPF6
  • Good cycling stability and high capacity retention in batteries
  • Leak-free, dimensionally stable gel formulation possible, reducing risk of leaks or spills
