Arrangement Comprising a Support and Super-Conductive Film, Vortex Diode Comprising Said Type of Arrangement and Use of Vortex Diodes for Filters
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention describes a structure consisting of a support and a superconducting film with specially arranged holes (such as round, triangular, or meandering patterns), which improves the conversion of signal frequencies in components called vortex diodes and filters. The layout of the holes guides the movement of magnetic vortices in the superconductor, directly converting high-frequency or AC signals into DC signals without the need for additional electronic circuits. The arrangement can be used to create effective and compact signal filters that can simultaneously process multiple frequency components.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- High-frequency signal filtration in communication devices and electronic instruments
- Miniaturized RF/microwave and millimeter-wave filters for telecommunications
- Sensitive detectors or mixers for radio astronomy or scientific instruments, converting high-frequency signals into measurable DC signals
- Advanced electronic circuits in quantum computing, leveraging superconducting properties for low-loss signal handling
- Integration in sensors for rapid signal analysis, especially where compactness and high sensitivity are required
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Direct conversion of AC (including RF) signals into DC without additional electronics, simplifying device design
- Reduced size and improved miniaturization compared to conventional resonators or filters
- Simultaneous filtering and conversion of signals at multiple frequencies, enhancing efficiency and functionality
- Potentially lower power consumption and improved signal quality due to superconductive, low-loss materials
- Flexible design allows for customization to specific frequencies or multi-band applications
- Enables filtering at very high frequencies (from MHz up to 100 GHz)

Patent Abstract
The invention relates to an arrangement comprising a support and a super-conductive film which is arranged thereon. The film comprises a plurality of holes in order to form a perforated grating. Round holes having increasing sizes, triangular holes, or holes which are arranged in a meandering manner in the film, produce improved properties in relation to the signal conversion, in a vortex diode and/or in a filter, which comprises the inventive arrangement. A DC signal is directly removed therein, that is, without additional wall electronics.
