Device for separation of magnetic particles from dispersion at boundary surface, has permanent magnet present below non-magnetic funnel to absorb dispersions, and boundary surface arranged between lower outlet opening of funnel and magnet
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention is a device designed to separate magnetic particles from liquid dispersions using a strong permanent magnet placed beneath a non-magnetic Teflon funnel. The magnetic particles are drawn towards the magnet as the dispersion flows through the funnel, with a specifically arranged boundary surface helping to facilitate the separation process.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Purifying samples in chemical or biological laboratories by removing magnetic particles from liquids.
- Preparation and isolation of magnetic nanoparticles for research or industrial applications.
- Use in medical diagnostics, such as isolating magnetically labeled cells or biomarkers from patient samples.
- Environmental applications, for removing magnetic contaminants from wastewater.
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Enables efficient and selective separation of magnetic particles from liquid dispersions.
- Non-magnetic Teflon funnel prevents unwanted magnetic interactions and contamination.
- Compact and precise design suitable for laboratory or small-scale industrial use.
- Adaptable to different particle sizes and separation needs by modifying funnel or magnet dimensions.

Patent Abstract
The device has a permanent magnet present below a non-magnetic funnel for absorbing dispersions. A boundary surface is arranged between a lower outlet opening of the funnel and the permanent magnet. The magnet is made of neodymium iron boron, samarium cobalt or aluminum nickel cobalt. The funnel is made of Teflon(RTM: PTFE). The outlet opening of the funnel exhibits diameter of about 100 micro meters. Dimensions of the magnet of about 9mm x 18mm x 18mm are formed in accordance with dimensions of the funnel. An independent claim is also included for a method for separation of magnetic particles from dispersion at a boundary surface.
