Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

The patent describes a highly sensitive and versatile method and kit for detecting bioindicators—such as proteins, genes, hormones, enzymes or other biomolecules—in various samples, including biological fluids, environmental samples, or food. The process involves binding bioindicators to a special substrate using capturing molecules, marking them with detection probes or fluorescent nanoparticles (such as quantum dots), and then detecting them with a highly precise, spatially resolved measurement technique (like advanced fluorescence microscopy). This method allows for direct, quantitative, or qualitative detection, even at extremely low concentrations.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Medical diagnostics for detecting diseases based on biomarkers in blood, urine, or cerebrospinal fluid.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of drug treatments and therapy (therapeutic monitoring).
  • Pharmaceutical research and drug development, including evaluating how drugs interact with target molecules.
  • Screening patients for eligibility in clinical trials based on specific biomarker levels.
  • Differential diagnosis of diseases, such as distinguishing between various types of cancer or neurological disorders.
  • Quantifying environmental contamination by detecting toxins, pesticides, or pathogens in water, soil, or food samples.
  • Food safety testing, such as identifying allergens, toxins, or spoilage microorganisms.
  • Basic biological research for studying protein-protein interactions or biomarker profiles.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Allows for highly sensitive detection of bioindicators, down to femtomolar or even sub-femtomolar concentrations (much lower than traditional ELISA methods).
  • Can detect multiple bioindicators simultaneously in a single sample (multiplexing capability).
  • Works directly with minimally processed samples from biological fluids, environmental or food sources.
  • Reduces sample and reagent consumption due to high sensitivity and direct detection.
  • Provides both quantification (how much) and qualification (characterization) of bioindicators, including their individual features.
  • Avoids the need for complex or indirect detection steps used in previous methods (e.g., multi-step enzymatic reactions).
  • Flexible design allows adaptation for many target analytes and sample types by changing the capture and detection molecules.
  • Proven broad dynamic range, enabling detection and quantification across several orders of magnitude in concentration.

Patent Abstract

The invention relates to a method for detecting bioindicators in a sample, said method comprising the following steps: a) applying the sample containing bioindicators to a substrate; b) adding probes which are suitable for the detection and which mark the bioindicators by specifically binding thereto; and c) detecting the bioindicators by measuring a specific probe signal, wherein step b) can be carried out prior to step a). The invention also relates to the use of the method for detecting a disease or for checking the effectiveness of active substances and/or therapeutic methods and to a kit for detecting bioindicators in a sample.
