Aachen Ion Beams UG provides advanced MeV ion-beam analysis systems and services for industrial and scientific applications, specializing in elemental quantification, materials analysis, and irradiation technologies.
About
Aachen Ion Beams UG (haftungsbeschränkt) is a spin-off from Forschungszentrum Jülich that develops, manufactures, and supplies advanced MeV ion-beam analysis systems and solutions for industrial and scientific applications. Their offerings include complete systems (accelerators, beamlines, end-stations, detectors, and control/data analysis software) as well as individual components and engineering services. AIB enables high-sensitivity, non-destructive elemental identification and mapping across a wide range of materials—from biological and semiconductor samples to geological and forensic applications—using methods like RBS, NRA, ERD, PIXE, and PIGE. The company is also a leader in integrating AI-based data analysis for automated and high-throughput evaluations. AIB provides systems for in-vacuum and atmospheric analysis, analytical services, calibration (in line with IAEA recommendations), and customized solutions for sample handling, irradiation, and production line integration. Their mission is to make ion-beam analysis more accessible, accurate, and cost-effective for both research and industry.
