Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

The patent discloses a new class of pentafluorophosphate derivatives that function as potent inhibitors of protein tyrosine phosphatases, particularly PTP1B. These compounds mimic phosphotyrosine residues, show improved binding and higher cellular penetration compared to current inhibitors, and exhibit high stability in physiological conditions. The patent also describes methods for their synthesis and potential uses in the treatment of diseases linked to protein tyrosine phosphatase activity, such as diabetes, obesity, and cancer.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Development of pharmaceutical drugs to treat diabetes by modulating insulin signaling via PTP1B inhibition.
  • Creation of anti-obesity medications targeting protein tyrosine phosphatase enzymes involved in adiposity.
  • Design of cancer therapeutics that inhibit phosphatase-driven pathways contributing to tumor growth and survival.
  • Tools for biochemical research to probe the activity or inhibition of protein tyrosine phosphatases in cell-based assays or in vitro.
  • Production of synthetic building blocks for chemical biology or medicinal chemistry applications exploring phosphotyrosine mimicry.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Higher potency and specificity in inhibiting protein tyrosine phosphatases compared to existing agents.
  • Improved cell membrane penetration due to lower hydrophilicity, enabling better bioavailability.
  • Greater chemical and physiological stability, increasing potential for in vivo effectiveness and shelf life.
  • Versatility in chemical modification, allowing fine-tuning for specific biological targets or applications.
  • Potential to address unmet medical needs in diseases where protein tyrosine phosphatases are validated drug targets.

Patent Abstract

The invention relates to a pentafluorophosphate derivative according to general formula (I): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof. Thereby, R 1 and R 2 denote independently from each other H or F; R 3 denotes H, an optionally substituted C 1 -C 10 alkyl, an optionally substituted C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl, or an optionally substituted C 6 -C 20 aryl, wherein a hydrocarbon chain of the alkyl, the cycloalkyl or the aryl can be interrupted by one or more oxygen, sulfur and/or nitrogen atoms; and M denotes any cation; with the proviso that at least one of R 1 and R 2 denotes F, if R 3 denotes H. The invention further relates to uses of such a pentafluorophosphate derivative and to an appropriate manufacturing method.
