Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention introduces a new class of alkali metal metalate compounds (based on Li, Na, or K) containing transition metals (such as Fe, Co, Ni, Cr, etc.) and chalcogenides (S or Se). These materials uniquely combine high magnetic exchange bias (important for spintronic applications) with high ionic conductivity (making them suitable for solid-state battery electrolytes). Unlike traditional exchange bias materials that require complex multilayer films, these are single-phase, abundant, and potentially less toxic compounds that are straightforward to synthesize.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Solid-state electrolyte in lithium, sodium, or potassium ion batteries for safer, more efficient energy storage.
  • Magnetic components in spintronic devices, such as MRAM (magnetoresistive random-access memory), transistors, and MOSFETs.
  • Advanced electronic components where both ionic transport and controlled magnetic properties are needed, e.g., sensors or memory devices.
  • Integration in energy storage and conversion technologies requiring non-toxic and earth-abundant materials.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Combines strong magnetic exchange bias with high ionic conductivity in a single-phase material, simplifying device design.
  • Can serve as a high-performance solid-state battery electrolyte, improving battery safety and stability over liquid electrolytes.
  • Utilizes abundant and less toxic elements, making the technology more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
  • Straightforward, scalable synthesis from common starting materials, enabling practical industrial adoption.
  • Tunability of properties by varying composition, making the materials flexible for different applications.
