Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention describes a method for operating a signal device that monitors a system by continuously evaluating real-time data. When the system's phase or state changes—identified by comparing current data with reference data—the signal device is activated to notify an output unit. The output unit then recalculates key output parameters based on recent data trends, ensuring that information provided reflects only the current phase of the system.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Industrial process monitoring and automation systems
  • Real-time safety monitoring in transportation (e.g., railway signaling)
  • Healthcare systems to monitor patient status changes
  • Building management systems for alerting on state changes (e.g., fire or intrusion detection)
  • Financial systems to signal market phase changes

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Provides timely and accurate alerts when system states or phases change
  • Reduces false signals by activating only on real state changes
  • Output data is context-aware, computed only from relevant, phase-specific input, enhancing accuracy
  • Can be adapted to various domains requiring real-time monitoring and phase detection
  • Enhances safety and operational efficiency by ensuring response to only significant events

Patent Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the operation of a signal device and an associated output unit, wherein a) at least one input data set, the data of which, for example, can be depicted by time-dependent functions and represent the current status of a system to be monitored, is supplied at predeterminable times to an evaluation unit (4), b) the input data set in the evaluation unit (4) is associated with one of a plurality of system phases by comparison with reference data, c) the evaluation unit (4) activates a signal device (5) if a system phase is associated with the input data set, said system phase differing from immediately prior input data set supplied by the system phase associated with the evaluation unit (4), d) upon activation, the signal device (5) emits a signal so that an output unit (6) is activated, and e) the output unit (6) newly determines the data of an output data set upon release, with the determination of said data of the output data set being made using time-dependent parameters that are calculated from the time-dependent progression of the data of the at least one input data set in the past and with said time-dependent parameter being determined using exclusively such data of the at least one input data set that are associated with the same system phase as the current input data set.
