Humedics GmbH
Humedics GmbH develops and markets the LiMAx test, an innovative breath analysis technology for real-time, quantitative liver function diagnostics.
About
Humedics GmbH, based in Berlin, specializes in rapid and accurate liver function measurement using the LiMAx test, a non-invasive, quantitative real-time test for assessing liver function capacity. The LiMAx system consists of the LiMAx test (using 13C-methacetin solution), an analysis device (FLIP), and associated software. The test is used at the patient’s bedside and supports clinical decision-making by providing precise information on real-time liver function. Its core applications are in liver surgery, liver transplantation, hepatology, and oncology. Humedics aims to improve outcomes for patients with liver diseases by enabling tailored treatment strategies based on actual liver function, and their technology has found routine clinical use in over 30 leading university hospitals in Europe. Over 20,000 tests have been performed. The company is expanding globally and was acquired by ABL SA group in December 2022.
