Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

The invention describes a method for manufacturing metal halide perovskite solar modules in which the chemical composition of the perovskite layer is locally modified to contain less lead, iodine, and/or bromine in the regions where electrical contacts are created by laser ablation. This leads to fewer unwanted reaction products (such as lead iodide and lead bromide) that otherwise increase electrical resistance and reduce efficiency. The result is a perovskite solar module with improved energy conversion efficiency, achieved by strategic reduction of these elements during the fabrication process.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Commercial production of highly efficient perovskite solar panels and modules.
  • Integration into residential and commercial solar installations requiring high performance and cost-effective photovoltaic solutions.
  • Development of new manufacturing lines or retrofitting of existing lines for perovskite solar cells to enhance performance.
  • Research and development of advanced solar technologies utilizing perovskite materials.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Increased energy conversion efficiency due to reduced formation of non-conductive reaction products at critical contact areas.
  • Lower electrical resistance at connections between layers in the solar module, enhancing overall performance.
  • Improved reliability and longevity of perovskite solar modules.
  • Manufacturing process can be implemented with existing scalable techniques such as solution coating and laser ablation.
  • Potential reduction in material costs and waste due to targeted material deposition.

Patent Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a solar module (1) with multiple metal halide perovskite solar cells (100, 100'), in which a perovskite layer is produced in such a way that there is less lead, iodine and/or bromine in the region (24) of the second clearance (P2) before the creation of the second clearance (P2) than outside the region (24) of the second clearance (P2) in the perovskite layer, and so the formation of reaction products comprising lead iodide and/or lead bromide in the creation of the second clearance (P2) is reduced. The invention also relates to a solar module with increased energy-conversion efficiency.
