Use of a Stack of Transparent Plates as a Neutral Density Filter
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention relates to the use of a stack of at least two transparent plates as a neutral density filter. These plates are made of a material with specific optical properties, including high transparency, controlled thickness, and a broad wavelength transmission. The stack can handle high light intensities without being damaged, making it suitable as an optical filter with precise and consistent attenuation across a wide range of light wavelengths.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Camera lens filters for photography and videography to reduce light intensity without affecting color balance
- Optical instrumentation that requires controlled light attenuation, such as spectrometers or scientific measuring devices
- Laser systems that need stable and durable neutral density filters for beam intensity control
- Microscopy and biomedical imaging to manage the amount of light reaching delicate samples
- Display technologies or projectors needing graded light filtering
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Ensures broad and even light attenuation (neutral density) without color distortion
- Can withstand high-intensity light sources or powerful lasers without damage
- Provides precise control over the filter’s transmission due to controlled plate thickness and spacing
- High optical clarity and minimal distortion due to material specifications
- Can be adapted to various optical systems due to flexibility in sizing and configuration

Patent Abstract
