Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Plasmaerzeugungseinrichtung, die einen Elektrodenträger (5) und eine erste Elektrode (10) sowie eine zweite Elektrode (20) umfasst, wobei die erste Elektrode (10) am oder im Elektrodenträger (5) angeordnet ist. Weiterhin umfasst sie eine hochspannungsgeeignete Steckkontaktverbindung (40) zur elektrischen Kontaktierung wenigstens einer der Elektroden (10,20), wobei die Steckkontaktverbindung (40) einen Stecker (50) sowie eine Aufnahmebuchse (60) zur Aufnahme des Steckers (50) aufweist und die Aufnahmebuchse (60) fest am oder im Elektrodenträger (5) angeordnet ist und mit einer der Elektroden (10,20) elektrisch leitfähig verbunden ist. Des Weiteren betrifft die Erfindung ein Plasmaerzeugungssystem mit mehreren der erfindungsgemäßen Plasmaerzeugungseinrichtungen, sowie ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Plasma und ein Verfahren zur Desinfektion von Oberflächen.
