Method for producing locally modified cast parts
AISimple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
The invention describes a method for producing cast parts with locally modified properties by incorporating expandable plastics and specific modifiers into the casting process. The procedure involves using a foam mold, inserting modifiers, expanding the plastic to fix the modifiers in position, introducing the modified foam into a casting mold, and then casting metal so that the plastic evaporates and the modifiers become embedded in the final cast metal part.

Patent Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing locally modified cast molded parts (10') in a casting process using expandable plastics (1), wherein composite materials (4) are produced by introducing modifiers (2), comprising at least the following steps: provision of at least one foaming mold (3) for producing a foam (1', 5, 5') mixed with modifiers (2), filling the foaming mold (3) with at least one expandable plastic (1) and modifiers (2), expanding the plastic (1) and position-accurate fixation of the modifiers (2) in the foam (1', 5, 5'), and introducing the foam (1', 5, 5') into a casting mold (7), introducing a liquid metal (14') into the casting mold (7) to produce the cast molded part (10'), wherein the expanded plastic (1) evaporates and the modifiers (2) are enclosed by the liquid metal (14'), and removing the produced cast molded part (10') from the mold.
