Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

The patent describes a height-adjustable holding device for functional elements, particularly suited for aligning magnets or pole pairs in undulator devices used in particle accelerators. The invention enables precise and rapid height adjustment of the mounted element using a flexor mechanism and an adjustable pressure element, such as a wedge or eccentric cam, without needing to remove or disassemble the element or its support.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Precise vertical adjustment of magnets or pole pairs in undulators for synchrotron radiation facilities and particle accelerators.
  • Height adjustment of sensitive components in laboratory instrumentation where fine tuning is required.
  • Application in other scientific equipment where functional elements need accurate, stable, and easily reversible height adjustment.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Allows precise and repeatable height adjustment without time-consuming disassembly or realignment.
  • Reduces setup and maintenance time for complex machinery, such as particle accelerators, from weeks to hours or minutes.
  • Minimizes risk of accidental misalignment during adjustment due to a stable flexor mechanism.
  • Supports automation for remote or process-controlled height adjustments, improving convenience and reliability.
  • Offers a robust and stable holding solution that preserves the accuracy and performance of sensitive equipment.

Patent Abstract

The device (2) has a base support (6) provided with a pick-up device (8), a support element (10) and a functional element (4). The support element is arranged above a base portion (12). The functional element is fastened with a lamellar-shaped region (24) of a height-adjustable flexor. An adjustable pressure element (18) e.g. wedge or pop-up drain, is arranged in the base portion to adjust height of position of the region of the flexor on bottom of flexor area with respect to an inclined plane (20). The functional element is delimited by the lamellar shaped region of the base region.
