Excelsus Structural Solutions
Excelsus Structural Solutions provides advanced synchrotron-based X-ray powder diffraction analytical services and consultancy for the pharmaceutical and related industries.
About
Excelsus Structural Solutions is a high-tech company originally founded in Brussels, Belgium in 2012 as a spin-off from the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland. In 2014, it established Excelsus Structural Solutions (Swiss) AG in Switzerland, currently located at Switzerland Innovation Park Innovaare in Villigen, Switzerland. The company enables industrial and academic customers, particularly in the pharmaceutical and (bio)pharmaceutical sectors, to access state-of-the-art synchrotron-based X-ray powder diffraction (S-XRPD) and related analytical tools. These services are designed to enhance drug development, formulation, manufacturing, intellectual property protection, and quality control. Excelsus offers routine and highly specialized measurements, consulting on patent litigation and regulatory compliance, and supports R&D projects requiring the highest detection sensitivity. The company is known for strict confidentiality, knowledge exchange with a global scientist network, and the development of novel measurement and data analysis methodologies for challenging applications including detection of impurities and phase traces down to 0.01% wt.
