Die Erfindung betrifft einen Sensor (1), der eine Sensorschicht (2) und ein Gehäuse (3) aufweist, in dem die Sensorschicht (2) angeordnet ist. Dabei ist vorgesehen, dass die Sensorschicht (2) aus einem ersten biologisch abbaubaren Material besteht und das Gehäuse (3) aus einem zweiten biologisch abbaubaren Material besteht, wobei das erste und das zweite biologisch abbaubare Material jeweils ausschließlich aus einer oder mehreren Komponenten hergestellt sind, die nachwachsende Rohstoffe sind, aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen gewonnen wurden oder nachwachsenden Rohstoffen chemisch entsprechen.
