Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

The patent describes a process and apparatus for drying and pyrolyzing coal using resistance heating. In this method, moist raw coal is passed through a gap formed by rotatable rollers, where it is compressed and exposed to an electric field. The process dries and heats the coal, with parameters such as the final temperature, heating rate, and speed of coal movement being controllable via the roller rotation, gap width, and applied voltage.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Efficient drying of raw coal before combustion in power plants.
  • Pre-treatment of coal for metallurgical applications, such as in steel production.
  • Production of pyrolyzed coal products for industrial use.
  • On-site coal upgrading in mining operations to reduce transport weight and emissions.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Energy-efficient drying and pyrolysis of coal due to direct resistance heating.
  • Precise control over the process parameters for optimized output.
  • Reduced emissions and moisture content in processed coal, leading to improved combustion efficiency and lower transport costs.
  • Compact, potentially continuous system that allows for integration into existing coal processing facilities.

Patent Abstract

Elektroden angelegte Spannung regelbar.
