Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention describes a system and method for encoding and transmitting multi-bit information using multiple mud sirens arranged within a drilling assembly (such as in oil or gas drilling). Special coding devices coordinate these mud sirens so they can work together at specific times to convey more complex data through drilling mud, enhancing downhole communication.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Monitoring and real-time data transmission from drilling tools in oil and gas exploration wells
  • Remote control of drilling operations by sending commands through the mud column
  • Enhanced telemetry for mining or deep earth exploration systems
  • Downhole sensor data transmission for geological surveys

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Enables faster and more efficient transfer of information from deep underground to the surface
  • Allows for more complex data (multiple bits) to be sent in a single communication event, improving communication capability
  • Improves the reliability and flexibility of downhole communication systems
  • Supports advanced monitoring and control techniques in drilling and exploration operations, leading to improved safety and efficiency

Patent Abstract
