Composite Plate and Method for Manufacturing a Composite Plate
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
The patent describes a composite panel consisting of a flat substrate (such as fiberboard or gypsum board) with a very thin, cement-based layer hydraulically set directly on top. This panel mimics the appearance and surface properties of ceramic tiles or stone but is much lighter and thinner. The invention covers both the composite panel itself and the process for making it, which includes preparing the substrate, applying a specially-formulated, flowable cement mixture, spreading it very evenly, and allowing it to harden and dry, all without needing chemical adhesives.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Wall or floor coverings in residential, commercial, or public buildings
- Lightweight tile or panel solutions for renovation projects where structural load is a concern
- Decorative ceiling panels requiring a durable, ceramic-like finish
- Panels for bathrooms, kitchens, or wet rooms needing water resistance and hygiene
- Large-format wall panels or tiles with minimal thickness for modern architectural designs
- Portable or prefabricated construction units where weight and quick installation are critical
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Significantly lighter and thinner than traditional ceramic or stone tile, reducing weight on building structures
- Maintains a high-quality, ceramic-like appearance and surface feel
- Can be made in large formats with very thin overall thickness (as little as 2 mm), allowing modern design flexibility
- Improved surface hygiene: washable, and can be made water-repellent or waterproof
- No need for additional chemical adhesives or primers between layers, simplifying manufacturing and reducing costs
- Enhanced mechanical properties and flexibility due to possible addition of polymer powders, which reduces cracking and improves durability
- Potentially lower production costs due to efficient, continuous manufacturing process

Patent Abstract
