Device for Determining the Thermal Conductivity of Borehole Material Using the Laser Flash Method in Borehole Measurements
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention describes a device and method for accurately measuring the thermal conductivity of materials in boreholes using the laser flash technique. The device employs a pneumatic system to press a film onto the borehole wall, creating a controlled double layer for measurement. An infrared temperature sensor collects thermal data, which is analyzed to determine thermal conductivity and related parameters.

Patent Abstract
The device (1) has a film (7) forming a double layer (23) with a borehole wall (5) after pneumatic pressing, and an externally controlled pneumatic device with a pneumatic line (8). An infra red temperature sensor (13) is provided for active temperature control in a measuring chamber (3) through the pneumatic line. An evaluation unit is provided for determining temperature conductivity from evaluation of the determined measuring values of the double layer and for determining the thermal conductivity and additional thermal parameters using the program technical medium and the reference body. An independent claim is included for a method for determining thermal conductivity of the material of boreholes using a laser flash process, particularly thermal conductivity scanning during measurements in the borehole.
