Ceramic separator, useful for separating substances, comprises porous ceramic substrate having sealing region in which seal is provided on ceramic separator to prevent penetration and passage fluid medium
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent describes a ceramic separator that uses a specialized porous ceramic material with a sealed region to prevent unwanted fluids from passing through. The seal is reinforced with a hydrothermally resistant protective layer made from metals or metal compounds, like metal nitrides, and is applied using techniques such as glass/enamel coatings or vapor deposition. It is designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures, making it suitable for harsh environments.

Patent Abstract
The ceramic separator (6) comprises a porous ceramic substrate having a sealing region in which a seal (11) is provided on the ceramic separator comprising a porous ceramic support material to prevent penetration and passage a fluid medium. The seal includes a hydrothermally resistant protective layer made of a metal and/or a compound of a metal including metal nitrides or metals, and is provided a dependent on an application area thickness. The protective layer is applied on the seal by a sealing glass or enamel coating, and includes a physical vapor deposition film. The protective layer is applied on the seal by a sealing glass or enamel coating, and includes a physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition or wet-chemical deposition film. The support material includes an inorganic oxide-ceramic base material. The seal is provided in a range of a maximum of ten percent of the entire surface of the ceramic separator. The ceramic separator has a tubular shape with an outer side, an inner side, and an open end face formed on the front side. The seal is exposed under hydrothermal conditions at temperature of 150-300[deg] C and pressure of 200-400 bars. An independent claim is included for a pipe module.
