Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This patent describes a device for generating a hot process gas stream by passing gas through a housing that contains at least one heating element, which is heated using electrical induction. The heating element includes flow channels for the gas. The housing is surrounded by at least one nonlinear electrical coil whose winding density decreases along the direction of gas flow. Multiple coils can be placed in series along the housing, with the first coil delivering more electrical power than the subsequent coils. The induction-based heating allows precise and efficient heating of the process gas as it flows through the device.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Industrial processes that require a steady supply of hot process gas, such as metal processing, chemical synthesis, or glass manufacturing
  • Heating systems for laboratory equipment where precise temperature control of gases is needed
  • Clean energy applications such as fuel cell gas supply systems
  • Applications where fast, controlled startup and shutoff of gas heating is required
  • Retrofitting or upgrading traditional gas heaters to be more energy efficient and controllable

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Efficient and rapid heating of process gases using electrical induction, which can improve energy savings
  • Precise control of gas temperature due to adjustable power and coil configuration
  • Modular design allows for scalability and adaptation to various industrial needs
  • Reduced risk of contamination since heating is contactless and can be enclosed
  • Potential for improved safety and reduced emissions compared to conventional combustion-based heating systems

Patent Abstract
