Continuously Operating Lockless Solid Feed System for Pressurized Gasification Reactors, in Particular for Fluidized Bed Gasification Reactors
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent describes a continuous, lockless solid feed system for supplying solid materials into pressurized gasification reactors, especially for those that use a fluidized bed. The system uses an extrusion press with a specially designed pressing tool that features cooling channels and microwave-transparent, wear-resistant components, enabling efficient and leak-free feeding of solids under pressure without the need for traditional locks or seals.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Feeding coal or biomass into high-pressure gasification reactors in power plants.
- Supplying solid waste to fluidized bed gasification systems for waste-to-energy facilities.
- Introducing catalyst particles into pressurized chemical reactors in industrial processes.
- Feeding raw materials into high-pressure reactors in the production of synthetic fuels or chemicals.
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Enables continuous and reliable solid feeding into pressurized reactors without leaks.
- Eliminates the need for complex lock systems, reducing maintenance and operational costs.
- Improves the durability and lifespan of the feeding system through wear-resistant components.
- Allows integration of microwave-assisted heating or processing, potentially enhancing efficiency.
- Enhances process safety by reducing the risk of leaks or pressure loss.

Patent Abstract
The continuous working lockless solid feed system has an extrusion press with a pressing tool that is connected to a gas pressure conducting connection strand for reactors. No leakage occurs over the component of the pressing tool that is provided with a rigid mold channel. The pressing tool has cooling channels around the pressing chamber. The mold channel has wear sleeves with mutually arranged geometry. The mold channel in the area of the extension has a microwave-transparent material that is pressure-resistant glass-, ceramic- or plastic material and integrates a microwave apparatus.
