Method for echo cancelation in full-duplex communication between distal and proximal ends, involves performing frequency analysis of loudspeaker signal transmitted from distal end and signal received at proximal end by microphone
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
The patent describes a method and device for effectively canceling echo in full-duplex communication systems (where both parties can talk and listen simultaneously). It uses frequency analysis and digital filters to distinguish and remove unwanted echo from the audio signal so that communication sounds natural and free of interference.

Patent Abstract
The method involves performing a frequency analysis of a loudspeaker signal transmitted from distal end and the signal received at proximal end by a microphone through short-time Fourier transform. An initial solution of the adjusted useful signal is determined at proximal end from frequency-analyzed signals. The acoustic path of the echo signal is described as multiplicative factor in frequency-analyzed microphone signal. A post-processing of adjusted useful signal of the initial solution is performed in frequency domain through a finite impulse response filter for estimating a distortion-free signal of the proximal end. The estimated distortion-free signal is inverse transformed in the time region. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for echo cancelation in full-duplex communication between a distal end and a proximal end; and (2) a hands-free unit with a loudspeaker.
