Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention describes a method and device for playing audio signals that originate from a virtual source using multiple networked mobile devices, each equipped with at least one electroacoustic transducer (such as a speaker), in a local space. The system determines the positions of these devices in the room, calculates control functions based on a network signal and the virtual source's position, and uses these to reproduce the audio field through the mobile devices. The invention also enables full-duplex communication between the devices.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Immersive audio experiences in augmented or virtual reality environments using multiple mobile devices.
  • Collaborative music playback at social gatherings where each participant's device contributes to a shared soundscape.
  • Spatialized audio solutions in gaming, video conferencing, or remote learning applications to simulate in-person acoustics.
  • Distributed speaker systems for events, exhibitions, or presentations without dedicated audio hardware.
  • Enhanced teleconferencing, providing realistic positioning of speakers' voices in virtual meetings.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Enables a shared, spatial audio experience using everyday mobile devices without specialized equipment.
  • Flexible setup, adapting to the number and location of available devices in the space.
  • Improves immersion and realism in multimedia and communication applications.
  • Supports full-duplex communication, allowing simultaneous two-way audio interaction.
  • Cost-effective solution compared to traditional multi-speaker systems.

Patent Abstract
