Method for Producing a Catalytically Active Film and Film Which Can Be Manufactured by Means of This Method
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent describes a simple and reproducible method for producing catalytically active films, in particular films with immobilized photocatalysts. The core process uses surface-modified cellulose nanofibers as a matrix to immobilize catalyst particles, such as photocatalysts like TiO₂ or carbon nitride. The resulting material can be formed as either a self-supporting membrane or as a film on porous substrates, enabling practical catalytic applications that require stable, immobilized catalysts.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Photocatalytic hydrogen production from water splitting
- Photocatalytic degradation of water contaminants (e.g., dyes or pharmaceuticals)
- Efficient immobilization of powder-based catalysts for industrial or laboratory chemical processes
- Fabrication of catalytic membranes or films for continuous flow reactors
- Development of environmentally friendly catalytic materials based on bio-derived cellulose
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Simple, scalable, and cost-effective production method
- Good reproducibility and versatility in film size and shape
- Enhanced stability and longevity of immobilized catalysts during reactions
- Broad applicability with various types of catalysts, especially photocatalysts
- Use of renewable, bio-based cellulose materials as the support matrix
