Electrode for Photoelectrocatalysis and Method for Its Preparation
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention relates to a novel electrode for photoelectric (photoelectrocatalytic) applications, such as solar cells and water-splitting devices. The electrode consists of a substrate covered by a catalytic layer containing semiconductor particles embedded within an amorphous semiconductor matrix. The particles are carefully controlled for uniform size, and the matrix not only stabilizes and protects the particles but also improves the transport of charge carriers generated by light. The patent also details a cost-effective fabrication method to produce high-quality electrodes using common industrial particles.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- High-efficiency solar cells converting sunlight to electricity
- Photoelectrochemical water splitting to generate hydrogen as a fuel
- Catalytic conversion of CO2 into useful chemicals or synthetic fuels under light
- Photocatalytic degradation of environmental pollutants
