Method and Device for Producing a Metal-Plastic Connection by Means of Clinching and a Produced Component
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention introduces a method and device for joining metal and plastic components using a clinching process. The process involves placing a ring in a mold that matches the component's shape and then using a punch to join the metal and plastic parts, with the plastic enclosing the ring during the process. The invention also covers the resulting joined component.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Automotive manufacturing, for lightweight hybrid components
- Consumer electronics, combining metal frames with plastic casings
- Appliance manufacturing, for robust yet lightweight parts
- Aerospace parts, integrating metal and plastic elements
- Construction of furniture or equipment requiring strong metal-plastic connections
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Provides a strong and reliable metal-plastic bond without adhesives or heat welding
- Enables more lightweight structures by effectively combining materials
- Reduces production costs and process time compared to traditional joining methods
- Suitable for mass production with consistent quality
- Prevents damage to heat-sensitive plastics since it does not require high temperature

Patent Abstract
