High-Pressure Connector Joining Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Tubes to Other Components
AISimple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent discloses a special connector used to join tubular fiber-reinforced plastic components to at least one other part. The connector is designed to create a secure, form-fitting (positive-locking) and pressure-resistant connection between these lightweight composite tubes and other components, even at high pressures. The invention utilizes a hybrid design with specific structural features to improve the reliability of the joint.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Connecting lightweight fiber-reinforced plastic tubes in automotive structures
- Pipe or tube connections in aerospace or aircraft engineering for fluid or gas transport
- High-pressure piping systems in industrial settings, such as chemical plants
- Structural frame assemblies using composite materials in building construction
- Connecting parts in sporting equipment made of composite materials
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Provides strong, reliable, and pressure-resistant connections for fiber-reinforced plastic tubes
- Enables lightweight construction by allowing the use of composite materials in various applications
- Improves safety and durability in high-pressure environments
- Reduces the risk of leaks or connection failures due to the form-fitting and secure connection
- Facilitates the integration of composite tubes with components made from different materials

Patent Abstract
The invention relates to connectors for connecting tubular fiber-reinforced plastic composites with at least one component and tubular fiber-reinforced plastic composites in connection with a connector. The connectors and the tubular fiber-reinforced plastic composites are distinguished in particular by the fact that a form-fitting connection with a connector as a fitting in mixed construction design in the form of fiber-reinforced plastic composites with components is realized even for high pressures. For this purpose, a first end region of a tubular base body has an element for connecting the base body with the component as a connecting element. The second end region has, for connecting the base body with the tubular fiber-reinforced plastic composite, a thickening with groove-shaped recesses introduced at least in regions such that polygonal shapes or shapes of a conic section are defined by the recesses. Furthermore, at least one undercut is present in the base body between the connecting element and the thickening.
