The invention relates to devices and methods for the generative production of three-dimensional bodies on a substrate. The devices and methods are characterized in particular by generatively building up a three-dimensional body from a wire. For this purpose, a device for supplying a wire with a drive for transporting the wire and an inductor as a coil in connection with a generator for heating the end region of the wire until the detachment of a droplet through the action of the pinch effect are arranged such that the droplet reaches the substrate and/or the body and combines with it to form a body. Furthermore, the drive and the generator are connected to a control unit. For the generative production of three-dimensional bodies on a substrate, a wire is conveyed in the direction of the substrate and/or body and an end region of the wire is heated with an inductor until the formation and detachment of the developing droplet from the end region of the wire.
