Extruder for Making Hollow Thermoset Polymer Profiles with a Stationary Core
AISimple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
The patent describes an extrusion device and process for manufacturing hollow thermoset profiles from polymer materials. The system includes an extrusion area with a screw and at least one heating device, as well as a forming section with a fixed displacement body that does not rotate. The polymer is melted, shaped into a hollow profile, transported through the mold, and cured (cross-linked) by heating.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Production of strong, lightweight hollow thermoset plastic pipes and profiles for construction or automotive industries
- Manufacturing tubes and containers used in chemical processing, where heat and chemical resistance are important
- Creating custom hollow thermoset components for electronics housings or insulating channels
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Enables the efficient production of hollow thermoset plastic profiles with consistent quality
- Fixed displacement body design reduces wear and tear, possibly lowering maintenance needs
- May improve control over profile shape and structural properties during extrusion process
- Potentially produces parts with enhanced heat and chemical resistance due to thermoset materials

Patent Abstract
The present invention relates to an extruder device and an extrusion method for producing thermoset hollow profiles from polymer material, wherein the extruder device comprises an extrusion region with an extruder screw provided therein and at least one heating device, through the interaction of which the thermoset molding material is melted into a melt, and a mold arranged downstream of the extrusion region in a material conveying direction with at least one displacement body provided therein, wherein the melt is shaped in the mold, further transported by the subsequent melt and cross-linked by heating. According to the invention, the displacement body is positionally fixed and not connected to the extruder screw, so that it does not rotate during the extrusion method.
