Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention describes a forming method for creating profiled hollow bodies using a two-stage incremental sheet metal forming process. First, a workpiece is shaped into a hollow body through rotary swing bending, where the material is applied coaxially onto a rotating die. Next, a second rotating tool forms specific profiles onto the hollow body while it rests on the die.

Patent Abstract

The invention relates to a forming method for the production of profiled hollow bodies, using a two-stage incremental sheet metal forming process, wherein in a first process step a workpiece in the form of a hollow body is produced by means of rotational swing bending such that the workpiece rotates coaxially with a driven die. By feeding a cylindrical tool in the form of a pivoting movement, the workpiece is applied to the die. In a second process step, a profiling is introduced into the workpiece resting on the die by means of a second rotating tool fed to the die.
