Forming Process for the Production of Profiled Hollow Bodies
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention describes a forming method for creating profiled hollow bodies using a two-stage incremental sheet metal forming process. First, a workpiece is shaped into a hollow body through rotary swing bending, where the material is applied coaxially onto a rotating die. Next, a second rotating tool forms specific profiles onto the hollow body while it rests on the die.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Manufacturing automotive parts such as exhaust systems, drive shafts, or structural components with specific profiles.
- Production of aerospace components that require lightweight yet strong hollow structures.
- Creation of custom-designed tubes or pipes for industrial, architectural, or mechanical applications.
- Fabrication of complex-shaped containers or housings for machinery or consumer products.
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Enables precise forming of complex profiled hollow bodies with high reproducibility.
- Reduces the number of manufacturing steps compared to conventional methods, improving efficiency.
- Allows flexible production of various shapes and profiles without costly dedicated molds or dies for each design.
- Supports material savings and lightweight design due to accurate sheet metal forming.

Patent Abstract
