Braiding Machine that Weaves Warp and Weft Threads Around a Core with Low Undulation
AISimple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention describes a braiding device and method for over-braiding a core (the 'Flechtkern') as it is transported along a direction. The device employs at least two movable sets of bobbin carriers that cross threads around the core, and an additional stationary bobbin carrier set that introduces warp threads with an oscillating movement to bind the braided threads together, resulting in a dimensional and stable structure.

Patent Abstract
The invention provides a braiding device and a braiding method for braiding a braiding core to be transported along a conveying direction. The braiding device according to the invention comprises: – at least one first bobbin carrier set and at least one second bobbin carrier set, wherein at least one of the two bobbin carrier sets is movable along a circular path, wherein a relative movement is executable between the two bobbin carrier sets during braiding of the braiding core, and wherein through the relative movement the threads withdrawn from the bobbin carriers of the two bobbin carrier sets respectively can be deposited as crossing weft threads around the braiding core, – at least one third bobbin carrier set arranged in a fixed position, and – at least one actuating element, wherein the threads unwound from the bobbin carriers of the third bobbin carrier set during braiding of the braiding core can be set into an oscillating up and down movement by the at least one actuating element and can thereby be deposited as warp threads alternately over and under the crossing points of the weft threads while forming a binding. Through the unwinding of the weft thread systems and the binding generation by a separate warp thread system, an advantageous three-dimensional thread deposition with low undulation is enabled.
