The present invention relates to a hydraulic expanding chuck for a machine tool, in particular a turning, milling or drilling machine, wherein the expanding chuck and a clamping space on the front side of the expanding chuck for receiving a tool shank are formed substantially rotationally symmetric about a rotation axis, wherein the expanding chuck comprises a base body, a hydro-clamping structure radially adjacent to the clamping space, and a hydro-expansion volume adjoining the hydro-clamping structure and filled with a hydraulic fluid, and wherein the hydro-expansion volume is bounded by the base body and a sleeve connected to the base body. It is the object of the present invention to propose an expanding chuck with a durable fastening between the base body and the sleeve. The object is achieved by an expanding chuck which is characterized in that interface surfaces between the base body and the sleeve are formed as a first support surface for a first contact surface and/or a second support surface for a second contact surface such that upon pressurization of the hydro-expansion volume the first contact surface is pressed onto the first support surface and/or the second contact surface is pressed onto the second support surface.
