Brake Disc with Axially Joined and Mechanically Locked Brake Ring Assembly
AISimple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent describes a method for manufacturing a brake disc, particularly for motor vehicles. The process involves joining a brake pot and a brake ring along the longitudinal axis so that the edge of the brake pot overlaps and is shaped outward to securely attach to the brake ring, forming a stable axial stop. The invention also covers the resulting brake disc produced by this method.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Manufacture of automotive brake discs for passenger cars and trucks
- Production of high-performance or heavy-duty brake systems
- Manufacturing brake discs for rail vehicles or industrial machinery
- Replacement or aftermarket brake disc production
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Improved strength and secure connection between the brake pot and brake ring
- Potential for enhanced durability and longer service life of the brake disc
- More efficient or simplified manufacturing process
- Better resistance to mechanical stresses during braking

Patent Abstract
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a brake disc, in particular for motor vehicles, consisting of a brake pot (1) with a bottom (2), wherein the brake ring (5) and the brake pot (1) are joined according to the invention in the direction of the longitudinal axis (A), so that the brake pot (1) with an end face (3.1) of the wall region (3), which faces away from the bottom (2), projects beyond a first side (5.1) of the brake ring (5) facing away from the bottom (2) of the brake pot (1) in the axial direction with a circumferentially closed overhang (X), and that the circumferentially closed overhang (X) of the brake pot (1) is reshaped radially outward and rests against the first side (5.1) of the brake ring (5) and forms a first axial stop for the brake pot (5). Furthermore, the invention relates to a brake disc manufactured with the method.
