Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Fertigung von komplexen 3D-Preformen unter Verwendung eines bestickbaren textilen Flächengebildes als Erstlage, wobei das textile Flächengebilde in Form eines maschenbildenden oder nichtmaschenbildenden textilen Halbzeuges vorliegt. Mittels eines Blindstichtyps werden Stränge aus Verstärkungsfasern (Rovings) mit gebogener Nadel auf das textile Flächengebilde aufgestickt, wobei das textile Flächengebilde nicht vollständig durchstoßen wird.
