Laying device for band-shaped material (hereinafter referred to as band) with a first gripper system for pulling out a first band from a first storage as well as with a first separating device and a laying surface for depositing a separated band section of the first band, wherein the first gripper system and the laying surface are movable relative to one another in multiple axes and wherein the first gripper system has at least one first axially movable gripper for gripping the band, which is movable along a longitudinal axis for pulling out and positioning the band, characterized in that the laying device has at least a second gripper system with at least one second gripper for pulling out a second band from a second storage, wherein the first and the second gripper are movable toward one another and away from one another.
