Liquid moving device for moving liquid back and forth over sensor surface of analytic sensor utilized in bio analytics field, has channel designed in such manner that counter pressure difference opposite to pressure difference is produced
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention describes a device for moving liquid back and forth across the surface of a sensor in a channel, which is useful in bioanalytical sensors. The movement is generated using a pressure difference, and the device’s special channel design automatically creates an opposing pressure when required, allowing the liquid to reverse direction without the need for valves.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Automated blood or urine analyzers in clinical diagnostics
- Real-time monitoring of biological reactions in lab-on-a-chip devices
- Point-of-care testing equipment for rapid detection of pathogens
- Chemical or biochemical assays requiring precise liquid movements over sensor surfaces
- Environmental testing devices using biosensors for pollutants
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Allows efficient back-and-forth movement of liquid without using mechanical valves, reducing complexity and points of failure.
- Enables more accurate and repeatable measurements by thoroughly washing sensor surfaces.
- Improves device reliability and lifespan due to fewer moving parts.
- Provides precise control over fluid movement, which is essential for sensitive bioanalytical applications.
- Can contribute to miniaturization of lab-on-a-chip and biosensor systems.

Patent Abstract
The device (100) has a pressure difference forming device i.e. valveless pump, which forms a pressure difference (8) in a channel (6), to move liquid (2) in a direction (1a) over a pre-determined surface (4) of a channel wall until a pre-determined time, for reducing the developed pressure difference at the pre-determined time. The channel is designed in such a manner that a counter pressure difference opposite to the pressure difference is produced, where the counter pressure difference moves the liquid in a direction (1b) over the pre-determined surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for moving liquid back and forth over a pre-determined surface in a channel.
