Device (13) for installation in a plastic injection molding machine (1) for thermoplastic foam injection molding of at least partially foamed thermoplastic components, characterized in that the device (13) comprises a melt line (3), a propellant fluid line (6), a mixer (4) connected to the melt line (3) and the propellant fluid line (6) for dispersing thermoplastic melt and propellant fluid, at least one melt-propellant fluid mixture line (10, 11) and a pressurized accumulator (5) connected to the mixer (4) and the melt line (3) via the melt-propellant fluid mixture line (10, 11) for receiving the melt-propellant fluid mixture and diffusing the propellant fluid into the thermoplastic melt, and in that the device (13) is a component of a tool (12) with at least one tool cavity or a tool module for connection with at least one tool (12) with at least one tool cavity.
