The invention relates to devices for comminuting vulcanized elastomers with at least one conveyor screw coupled to a drive in a housing with a feed opening. The devices are distinguished in particular by their simple implementation. For this purpose, the end region of the conveyor screw pointing toward the outlet of the device is a cylinder. At least one stationary ring is arranged on this cylinder. Furthermore, at least one region of the ring is located in the housing, so that an outwardly open annular gap is present between the ring and the housing, and the elastomer is transported outward through the movement of the conveyor screw and the resulting relative motion through the annular gap.
