Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Applikation eines Lackes auf einem Formteil aus faserverstärktem Kunststoff, das es ermöglicht, räumlich komplexe Formteile (3) – auch in Umbugbereichen – oberflächenfehlerfrei zu beschichten. Das Verfahren wird gemäß einem In-Mould-Coating Prozess durchgeführt, wobei während der Lackinjektion das Einfüllen des Lackes in das Formwerkzeug durch Anlegen eines Unterdruckes am Überlaufkanal (1.1) des Formwerkzeuges unterstützt wird; gleichzeitig erfolgt die Temperierung des Formwerkzeuges. Besonders geeignet ist das Verfahren für die Applikation von Lacken auf luftfahrtzugelassenen Leichtbaustrukturbauteilen, die mittels Harzinjektionsverfahren hergestellt wurden.
