Patent Abstract

The chain link (1) has two chain connecting sections opposite to each in a course direction and a reinforcement element connected to the chain connecting sections. The chain link is made from plastic. The reinforcement element is formed as a closed circulating loop (3). The two chain connecting sections (5a,5b) of the chain link are entangled by the loop. The loop is made from a fiber base element, which has a circulating fiber strand, a circulating woven fabric, a circulating knit-fabric or a circulating non-woven fabric, particularly glass fiber, carbon fiber, polymer fiber or metal fiber. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing chain link; and (2) a continuous chain with an outer link.
