Widerstandspunktschweißzange mit Koppelelement und Schweißelektrodenantrieb, wobei die Widerstandspunktschweißzange zwei Zangenelemente mit Elektroden aufweist, wobei ein erstes Zangenelement einen ersten Hebel (7) und ein zweites Zangenelement einen zweiten Hebel (7) aufweißt, die um ein zentrales Drehgelenk (1) mittels einer Antriebseinheit (4) aus einer geöffneten Position in eine zusammengeführte Position schwenkbar sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Hebel (7) des ersten und zweiten Zangenelements mittels vom Drehpunkt (1) beabstandeten mindestens zwei Gelenkgliedern (5) miteinander verbunden sind, wobei die Gelenkglieder (5) in der zusammengeführten Schwenkposition kollinear zueinander sind.
