Resistance Spot Welding Gun with Linked Lever Drive Mechanism
AISimple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent describes an improved resistance spot welding tong tool that features a coupling element and a special electrode drive. The design includes two tong arms, each with an electrode, and both arms are connected by at least two joint links positioned away from the main pivot. When in the closed (clamping) position, these links are collinear, improving the movement and stability of the tongs.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Automotive manufacturing for joining car body panels using spot welding
- Robotics industry where precise, automated spot welding tongs are used
- Appliance manufacturing, such as assembling metal housings
- Aerospace industry for precision spot welds on lightweight metal assemblies
- Shipbuilding, particularly for sheet metal work
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Improved mechanical stability and alignment during welding operations
- Increased precision and repeatability in clamping force between electrodes
- Reduction in wear and maintenance due to optimized force transmission
- Potentially higher welding quality due to consistent electrode alignment
- Adaptable to various industrial welding robots or manual welding stations
