Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention relates to a composite material made from a polymer combined with platelet-shaped nanoparticles. The polymer has specific chemical groups attached, allowing it to bond well with the nanoparticles. This new composite (adduct) can be added to bitumen (a substance used in road construction) to enhance its properties, and consequently used in the making of asphalt. The patent also includes a method for producing this composite material.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Improving the performance and longevity of road surfaces by adding the composite to bitumen or asphalt mixtures.
  • Enhancing durability and weather resistance of roofing materials and waterproofing membranes that use modified bitumen.
  • Developing high-strength or specialty asphalts for heavy-duty applications like airports, bridges, or industrial pavements.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Improved mechanical properties of bitumen and asphalt, such as increased strength and flexibility.
  • Enhanced resistance to weathering, aging, and environmental degradation.
  • Potential for longer-lasting road surfaces, reducing the need for repairs and maintenance.
  • Greater control over the chemical composition for tailored material properties.

Patent Abstract
