Das Verfahren hat den Vorteil, dass es die Reaktion des für Pflanzensamen ungiftigen Farbstoffs Resazurin nachweist und daher die wiederholte Testung derselben Samen ermöglicht, und dass z.B. Variationen in der Größe der Pflanzensamen das Ergebnis nicht beeinträchtigen.
