Ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Bauteils (1) mit Kavitäten (16) und/oder Hinterschneidungen (2), umfasst die folgenden Schritte: Bereitstellen eines Substrats (3), schichtweises Auftragen einer Opferstruktur (5) aus einem löslichen Opfermaterial auf dem Substrat (3), schichtweises Auftragen einer Primärstruktur (4) aus einem Primärmaterial auf dem Substrat (3), und Entfernen der Opferstruktur (5) durch Ausspülen des Opfermaterials. Die Opferstruktur (5) und die Primärstruktur (4) werden durch Auftragsschweißen schichtweise aufgetragen. Hierbei wird vor dem Auftragen eines Abschnitts (12) einer jeden weiteren Schicht der Opferstruktur (5) oder der Primärstruktur (4) ein sich damit überdeckender Abschnitt (13) der direkt unter der weiteren Schicht zu liegen kommenden Schicht vollständig aufgetragen.
