Electronic distance measurement device
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent describes an electronic distance measurement device that uses at least two radar signals at different frequencies to measure the distance to a reflecting surface. By comparing the phase differences between emitted and reflected radar signals at two frequencies, the device determines the exact distance, overcoming typical ambiguities and errors that restrict traditional radar measurement. The innovation allows for highly accurate and unambiguous distance measurements over a much wider range than previously possible.

Patent Abstract
The detector (100) has a transmission apparatus (101) for emitting radar signals at frequencies in a direction of a reflecting surface (103). A receiver (107) receives radar signal portions of the radar signals reflected at the reflecting surface and determines phase differences between the emitted radar signals and the radar signal portions reflected at the reflecting surface. A determination device determines distance between the detector and the reflecting surface based on the phase differences. The receiver comprises correlators (107-1) for determination of the differences. An independent claim is also included for a method for detection of distance by an electronic distance detector.
