Erfindungsgemäß wird zum Herstellen eines metallischen Bauteils (2),- ein Gießwerkzeug (1) mit einer zur Ausbildung des Bauteils (2) eingerichteten Kavität (4) bereitgestellt,- zumindest ein Bereich der Kavität (4) durch eine Kavitätswand (6) aus nicht-metallischem Material gebildet,- in die Kavitätswand (6) aus nicht-metallischem Material eine Mikrostruktur (14) zur Einstellung eines Benetzungsverhaltens des Bauteils (2) eingebracht, und- für einen Gießvorgang eine Temperaturdifferenz zwischen einer in die Kavität (4) einzubringenden Metallschmelze (16) und der Kavitätswand (6) und/oder ein Schmelzedruckwert derart eingestellt werden, dass das Bauteil (2) unter hinreichender Abformung der Mikrostruktur (14) entformbar ist.
