The device has interrogators arranged together in a preset manner in order to be arranged over a game board (100) distributed in a preset arrangement. Game pieces (130-1, 130-m) are provided with respective identification devices (140-1, 140-m) in a position. A controller (120) is formed and coupled with transmitting/receiving devices (110-1-1110-n) to control each transmitting/receiving device to cooperate with the identification devices of the game pieces for identifying and locating the game pieces on the game board over the preset arrangement. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for locating and identifying a game piece (2) a program with a program code for executing a method for locating and identifying a game piece.
